Grinding and milling

A range of equipment is available for reducing samples to the required sample size. More than one stage may be needed, for example, a piece of rock will need to be processed by a jaw crusher before milling to te required fineness. Below is a selection of mills to cover most requirements. Click on the picture for an enlarged image

Why do we need to mill a sample? - an explanation

The MM 200 mixer mill is suitable for mixing and milling of samples from a feed size of 6mm to a fineness of less than 10 microns

MM 301mixer mill, similar to the MM 200 but with a feed size of 8mm and fineness to less than 5 microns

The PM 100 caters for larger sample sizes with more rapid milling times than the mixer mills. Feed size up to 10mm and milling fineness to less than 1 micron

The PM 200 is similar to the PM 100 with the capability of holding two grinding jars with a feed size up to 4mm and milling fineness to less than 1 micron

The PM 400 is for high throughput applications, holding up to 4 grinding jars with a feed size up to 10mm and grinding fineness to less than 1 micron
