Evapoclean - principles of operation

TThe Evapoclean comprises an electrically heated graphite block with a bonded PTFE coating, making it completely acid resistant. The evaporation module comprises two PFA (Savillex) jars and a PTFE elbow. The unique, patented design of the elbow and its positioning in the “hot” section in the block allows condensation only on the cold side of the module. This is critically important to prevent reflux, degradation of the sample.and to permit rapid evaporation / condensation.

Holes in the top of the block allow digestions to be carried out and cleaning of jars with a special straight coupling.

To cater for different quantities of material for evaporation, special teflon coated graphite wedges can be used to modify the depth of the holes in the graphite block. These are simple to fit and remove, as conditions require.
